I am a small breeder that fell in love with the breed and strives to produce quality labradoodle dogs.  My goal is to breed only the healthiest parent dogs that have exceptional dispositions and conformation according to the Australian Labradoodle breed standard. I believe to attain a quality dog, puppies need to be raised with love, and attention to physical and mental health. At Rocky Mountain Labradoodles the litters are raised inside our home.  Each puppy gets an abundance of care, attention, and love.

Dogs have been a part of my family since I can remember.  As a young woman, I worked in veterinary clinics and studied animal science at college. Years ago I was confronted with finding a new dog to add to my life.  After much research, I was compelled to become involved with labradoodles. I found these dogs to be absolutely amazing.  It was also the passion that the breeders and owners had for their dogs which I found contagious.  From there I set out to become involved.

I am a registered ALAA breeder.  I too, am passionate about my dogs and proud to be a labradoodle breeder.

‘My goal in life is to be the person as good as my dogs already think I am.’

Just A Dog

From time to time people tell me, “Lighten up, it’s just a dog,” or, “That’s a lot of money for a dog.”  They don’t understand the distance traveled, time spent, or cost involved for “Just a dog.”  Some of my proudest moments have come about with “Just a dog.”  Many hours have passed with my only company being “Just a dog.”  Some of my saddest moments were brought about by “Just a dog.”  In those days of darkness, the gentle touch of  “Just a dog” provided comfort and purpose to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it is “Just a dog,” you will probably understand phrases like, “Just a friend,” “Just a sunrise,” or “Just a promise.” “Just a dog” brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.   “Just a dog” brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a better person.  Because of “Just a dog,” I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.

For me and folks like me, it is not “Just a dog.”  It is an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.  “Just a dog” brings out what’s good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday people can understand it is not “Just a dog.”  It is the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being “Just a man or woman.”

So the next time you hear the phrase “Just a dog,” smile, because they “Just Don’t Understand.”
